Biography
Mark D. Wigder is Of Counsel at Kaplan & Cruz, PLLC, where he focuses on corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions law. With over five decades of legal experience, Mark represents private companies, investors, and financial institutions in a broad range of matters, including entity formation, private financings, corporate governance, exit planning, and complex M&A transactions.
Mark earned his B.A. in Government and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he graduated in the top 1% of his class with High Honors, and was named to the Chancellors and Order of the Coif. He began his legal career in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General Corps.
Before joining Kaplan & Cruz, Mark served as a partner or senior counsel at several prominent law firms, where he advised clients in the corporate/securities space for over five decades. He has also written and lectured extensively on capital formation, acquisition strategy, and securities regulation for organizations including the University of Texas School of Law, PLI, and the Exit Planning Institute.
Mark has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer and listed in Who’s Who in American Law. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, including its Securities Law and M&A Sections.
